was born at Kackleberry Farm!  Actually, there are FIVE.  And they are the cutest things ever!  There are four girls and one boy.  I will be posting more pictures soon of all of them and even some video.  It is HILARIOUS to watch them run around and pull on Daddy Pig’s tail and ears!  We are naming them Petunia, Iris, Daisy, Periwinkle, and Meaty (umm, that’s the boy and you’ll understand when you see his portrait).  

These guys will be featured at the pig barn for a new twist – a POT-BELLIED PIG RACE!

Hello everyone!  Just a kwik note from the koop to share with you the things that are happening down on the farm….

As you know, we work year round to make sure your visit is the best it can be.  Well, we are diligently training our ponies so that we can have pony rides this year!  Shotgun has been our lead horse around these parts for the past three years but we’ve since added Denver, Pride, Sugar, Hugo, and Happy to the Kackleberry Krew.  I will post pictures soon but here’s our trusty Shotgun with Max…..it’s never too early…….

First Ride

Hello everyone from the Kackleberry Krew!  We hope you all had a wonderful holiday season!  We are so excited to already be hard at work making improvements and adding new and fun attractions to the farm!  This year, we will feature PONY RIDES.  Sugar, Denver and the rest of the gang are looking forward to meeting you! 

In addition, we are especially thrilled to be adding more educational value to the farm, particularly the field trips.  We will be including information on honey bees and vermiculture and improving the pumpkin patch and corn curriculum! 

We’ll keep you posted on everything going on.  Check back often for updates!

Thanks to everyone who submitted pictures for the photo contest.  It was a tough decision  – there were so many wonderful photographs to choose from!  After long deliberation and talking it over with the Kackleberry Krew…. here are the 2009 winners….

First Place Winner receives $100 cash and two season passes for 2010

Second Place winner receives $50 cash and 4 tickets for 2010.
Congrats Rachel Winstead for your picture of Eve with Shotgun…he might have been a little partial when he chose his favorites…

Hot air balloon rides will be available Saturday AND Sunday from 3;30 to 5:30!!!  Additional cost of $5 per person!  Rides are tethered and weather permitting!

Tethered hot air balloon rides are available at the farm from 3:30 to 5:30 Saturday, November 7 WEATHER PERMITTING!  It’s so much fun!  Add this to your list of things to do during your visit on our last weekend for the 2009 Season!

Just a reminder that Nov. 7 and 8 are our last opening days for the 2009 Fall Season!  We hope you can make it out if you haven’t and that you had a great time if you have!  We appreciate all of our visitors and can’t wait to see you again next year!  We love being a part of your fall family tradition!
