Teachers’ Field Trip Tips

Drinking Water:
Teachers, please be sure you provide your students with plenty of drinking water. Our water supply is not potable; however, we have bottled water for sale.

Facilities:
We have portable toilet facilities with hand sanitizers.

Food:
Picnic areas are available on a first-come/first-served basis. Not all food concessions are available on field trip days, however, you are welcome to bring a sack lunch. The Cornfield Café is always open for those who would rather purchase food.

Clothing:
Please dress as if you are going camping. No sandals or open toed shoes. If has rained the day before considering wearing boots, because the ground may be muddy.

Safety:
This is an all outdoor activity. Please check your student’s records for “bee” sting allergies. There will also be straw bales for the students to sit on and play on, so please check on any allergies pertaining to hay straw. If a student has an allergy, the student must bring appropriate medication. We will not administer or distribute any type of medication. We have on site a minor emergency first aid kit.

Weather:
If weather appears to be a problem, check our ‘weather bug‘ for the latest forecast. Also check the website for up-to-the-minute news about whether the farm has had to close.
